Creative Dance Waves

Welcome to Creative Dance Waves where imagination and movement come alive.

Creative Dance Waves is dedicated to bringing the JOY of movement to every-BODY everywhere by creating an experience where one can explore the art of LEARNING through dance, self expression, and creativity.

The Art of Learning

By nature we learn in many different ways. As we explore, nurture and learn the elements of the arts we discover our ability to connect with the world around us, and create the world we imagine. Creative Dance is one of the many art avenues wherein one learns the power of movement  and the significance of brain development, activity and sustainability in all stages of our lives.  The world is our stage, we must keep moving.

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.  It’s about learning to DANCE in the rain.” – Vivian Greene

About Me

Barbie

I like to consider myself as the dance dreamer. I took my first dance class in college, became an elementary educator, and have been a domestic engineer for the last 15 years. I have always felt like a late bloomer in dance. Somewhere in between raising my children and encouraging them to live their dreams, I believed it. So here I am at 40+, believing that I can still train my body to dance and become a dance educator.

My first dance education experience was with the Virginia Tanner Children’s Dance Theater at the University of Utah in 2005. In 2019, I began teaching creative dance in public schools again with the Dance Discovery Foundation in Southern California. More recently I had the opportunity to train with the Creative Dance Center, specifically in “Brain-Compatible Dance Education and the power of Brain Dance.”  As I continue to expand my teaching experience, come join the journey and together we will learn. The world is our stage, life is beautiful.
